HOUSE OF WILD WOOD WOMAN
IN MANYMINI RESIDENCY
Gallery Koh-I-Noor,
Copenhagen, Denmark, 2012
Many Mini Residency was a short-term residency program operated in conjunction with alternative exhibition venues in Europe and the United States. It was organised by American artists Sarrita Hunn and Ryan Thayer. In January 2012, Many Mini Residency was hosted at Gallery Koh-i-noor, an artist-run independent project space in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The project was funded in part by the Danish Art Council.
Prologue
Failed attempt to set up House of Wild Wood Woman in a Scandinavian January due to frozen fingers.
"I spent the residency trying to squeeze my House of Wild Wood Woman tent into the project space and make myself a(t) home.
Normally, I set up the tent in the forest, but January offered a unique chance or an outsider to move inside and enjoy some warmth for a while.
However, since the tent was too tall for the space, I had to angle the birch pole in order to fit in.
To make make myself (a)t home, I also took photos of nearby trees around Koh-i-noor and placed them on the walls surrounding the tent.
After some hard work I was finally settled and ready to invite passersby to drop in for a visit and a chat."
