DEEP FOREST LEARNING
field notes

An artists' book juxtaposing photos from tropical dipterocarp forests with texts on AI and machine learning, reflecting on whether the terminology in AI indicates a (subconscious) longing to re-connect with the natural world and/or whether there are possible deeper connections between nature’s living intelligence and artificial intelligence.

Photos of dipterocarp trees and forests are from Rimbun Dahan artist residency in Malaysia and the nature reserves Bukit Timah and MacRitchie in Singapore.

Created at the artist residency Rimbun Dahan, Malaysia. Exhibited at Cut Copy Paste zine fair (2023), organized by the Singapore Art Book Fair and Things Book Shop, curated by Shrub.
